Abstract:
A top-hinged door structure configured in such a manner that a door holding mechanism for maintaining the door at a fully open position is provided only on one side in the width direction of an opening of a vehicle body, wherein the structure enables the door to be appropriately mounted to the vehicle body. In a back door structure (10), a back door (24) rotatably supported by a rear roof header (20) through a pair of door hinges (26, 28) rotates about hinge shafts (30) to open and close a rear opening (14). The back door (24) is held at a fully open position, at which the rear opening (14) is open, by a single damper (40) provided only on the right side of the rear opening (14). In the back door structure (10), the vertical position of a mounting surface (20R) of the right door hinge (28) is set above a mounting surface (20L) of the left door hinge (26) when the back door (24) is not being supported, and thus, the mounting position of the back door (24) is corrected.
