Abstract:
The present invention relates to a top-side mating device and method, the mating device comprising: a lower support structure installed on the sea; an upper mating structure which includes a top-side body and is coupled to the lower support structure; a barge which is disposed in the upper mating structure and transfers the top-side body so that the top-side body is coupled to the lower support structure; and a controller which controls the barge such that the upper mating structure is coupled to the lower support structure, wherein: a receptor is formed in one of the lower support structure and the upper mating structure; a stabbing cone is formed in the other one of the structures and is inserted and coupled to the receptor; and each of the stabbing cone and the receptor has a guide rib and a guide rail formed therein, wherein the guide rail guides a mating between the stabbing cone and the receptor by inserting the guide rib.
