Abstract:
A toroidal continuously variable transmission is provided with: an input disc and output disc arranged facing each other; a power roller held so as to be capable of tilting between the input disc and output disc, the power roller transmitting rotational drive force of the input disc to the output disc at a transmission ratio corresponding to the tilt angle; a trunnion having a base part to which the power roller is rotatably attached, and a pair of side wall parts erected on the base part so as to face the peripheral surface of the power roller on both axial sides of the tilt axis of the power roller; and a beam extending along the axial direction of the tilt axis on the side opposite from the base part as seen from the power roller, the beam being attached to the pair of side wall parts. The beam has a contact part which is in contact with the end surface of one of the pair of side wall parts, and a regulating part for regulating the displacement of the pair of side wall parts towards each other by coming into contact with the side surfaces of the side wall parts that face the peripheral surface of the power roller.
