Abstract:
This toroidal continuously variable transmission is provided with: an input disk and an output disk; a power roller; a trunnion; a support member that rotatably supports the power roller with respect to the trunnion; a thrust bearing that receives a load of the rotating power roller in a rotary axis direction; and an oil path that supplies lubricating oil to the thrust bearing. A first bearing groove is formed on an opposite surface of the power roller opposing the support member. A second bearing groove is formed on an opposite surface of the support member opposing the power roller. A virtual axis of a discharge port of a nozzle included in the oil path reaches one bearing groove of the first bearing groove and the second bearing groove. A portion radially inward of a retaining hole in a retainer and a portion radially inward of the one bearing groove are located on the respectively opposite sides with respect to the virtual axis and located away from the virtual axis when viewed in a direction perpendicular to the rotary axis direction.
