Abstract:
In order to reduce space in the axial direction, and further increase damper characteristics by further widening the damper torsion angle of a lock-up device, the disclosed torque converter is provided with a torque converter body (6) and a lock-up device (7). The lock-up device has a plurality of outer peripheral torsion springs (32) and a plurality of inner peripheral torsion springs (33). The plurality of outer peripheral torsion springs (32) are disposed side by side in the circumferential direction at an outer attachment diameter (Do). The plurality of inner peripheral torsion springs (33) are disposed side by side in the circumferential direction at an inner attachment diameter (Di) on the inner periphery of the plurality of outer torsion springs (32), and act in series with the outer torsion springs (32). Furthermore, the outer attachment diameter (Do) is greater than or equal to the outer diameter (To) of a torus (6a), and the inner attachment diameter (Di) is less than or equal to the inner diameter of the torus (6a).
