Abstract:
The present invention reduces the weight of a torque converter while suitably maintaining the strength thereof. This torque converter (100) transmits torque from an engine-side member to a transmission-side member. The torque converter (100) is provided with a front cover (1), an impeller (2), and a turbine (3). At least one of the front cover (1), an impeller shell (21), and a turbine shell (31) comprises an isotropic metal section (11) and an anisotropic fiber-reinforced composite section (54) partially layered on the metal section (11).
