Abstract:
The present invention relates to a torque converter and, more specifically, to a torque converter which can maximize the torque transmission efficiency thereof. The torque converter of the present invention comprises: a front cover coupled to a drive shaft of an engine; a front housing coupled to the front cover, including a plurality of impellers fixed therein, and including a first guide part for fixing the ends of the impellers and guiding oil; a turbine runner disposed opposite to the front housing, including a plurality of blades fixed therein, including a second guide part for fixing the ends of the blades and guiding oil, and coupled to an output shaft; and a stator disposed between the inner circumference of the front housing and the inner circumference of the turbine runner so as to change the flow direction of oil, wherein the blades between the outer circumference of the front housing and the outer circumference of the turbine runner each have a protrusion portion protruding between the front housing and the first guide part, and the impellers each have a groove portion corresponding to the protrusion portion.
