Abstract:
A first magnetism detection unit (61) in a torque sensor of this torque detection system has, in a state where torque is not generated, an overlap with a magnetic pole of a magnet (30), the overlap being, for example when the N pole is projected in the radial direction therefrom, between the magnetic pole and the magnet (30) having projected same. Furthermore, a second magnetism detection unit (62) has, in a state where torque is not generated, an overlap with a magnetic pole different from the magnetic pole of a magnet (30) overlapping the first magnetism detection unit (61), the overlap being, for example when the S pole is projected in the radial direction therefrom, between the magnetic pole and the magnet (30) having projected same. A motor control device corresponding to a calculation unit of the torque detection system calculates a sum of a value regarding the intensity of a magnetic field detected by the first magnetism detection unit (61) and a value regarding the intensity of a magnetic field detected by the second magnetism detection unit (62). In addition, the motor control device calculates a steering torque on the basis of the calculated sum.
