Abstract:
In this invention, engine torque of an internal combustion engine is calculated using fundamental combustion torque and ignition timing adjustment amount. If the form of combustion of the internal combustion engine is stratified combustion, engine torque is estimated by an estimated torque arithmetic operation for stratified combustion (step S2). That is to say, a fundamental combustion torque calculation unit, an MBT calculation unit and an ignition timing adjustment calculation unit calculate the fundamental combustion torque, optimal ignition timing and torque reduction ratio using a map for stratified combustion. If the form of combustion of the internal combustion engine is homogeneous combustion, engine torque is estimated using an estimated torque arithmetic operation for homogeneous combustion (step S3). That is to say, the fundamental combustion torque calculation unit, the MBT calculation unit and the ignition timing adjustment calculation unit calculate the fundamental combustion torque, optimal ignition timing and torque reduction ratio using the map for homogeneous combustion.
