Title:
TORROIDAL SINGLE WINDING TRANSFORMER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/074767
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a torroidal single winding transformer which uses a torroidal core and comprises: a first main winding portion formed on branches of input/output terminals, and having an adjustable number of windings; a second main winding portion having an opposite polarity to the first main winding portion, and formed on branches having reference voltage terminals for the input/output terminals so as to have an adjustable number of windings; an excitation winding excited by the first main winding portion and the second main winding portion; and a controller for adjusting the numbers of windings of the first main winding portion and the second main winding portion to control the magnitude of an output voltage. Accordingly, a transformer can be produced which is reduced in size by about 1/4 and lighter than an EI core, and production cost can be significantly reduced. Also, system instability that can arise during the process of step-up voltage transformation can be eliminated, providing a constant voltage output with stability and high reliability.
