Title:
TORSION FREE SHACLE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/032921
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
A torsion free preferably harp shaped shacle, applicable as a connection link for theft preventive arrangements, borrowing its unique properties from an universal joint construction, avoiding any moment resulting from external forces, casu quo dismantling by malefactors. The method of hindering destruction is essential for this invention. Even grinding- or sawing machines cannot cause failing apart of the shacle, due to special eternals, spinning around when touched by any tool.

1. Torsion free shacle, applicated in combination with a so called theft preventing device for motorcycles and bicycles, in such a way that assembling is irreversible characterized in that the on the cardanic mounted shacle applied forces can not effect any moment, so the cycles attached to it are absolutely secured from theft after locking, while grinding or sawing through of the stem can not cause falling apart of the device due to an adjacent welded cross connection near to the hinge point, while the pins in the stem parts in between are designed such as these parts, when becoming touched by saw or grinding tools, starts to rotate, stopping the destruction immediately.
2. Torsion free shacle according to claim 1. c h a r a c t a r i z e d i n t h a t drilling out of the main bolt is hindered by a free rotating cap, kept in position by means of a snap spring, when contacting a drill or something like that, spinning around, so further destruction will be impossible.
3. Torsion free shacle according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that a stainless steel ball is used instead of a cap.
4. Torsion free shacle according to claims 1,2 and 3, characterized in that the connection piece is attached to two or more diverging wall anchors in order to withstand the so called, draw method with the help of friends in a car.
5. Attaching point welded to the main device, characterized in that tandem connection with other attaching pointsfor example via a coupling barwith more than one sole torsion free shacle per cycle can be facilitated.
Description:
Torsion free shacle.

The invention relates to a fastener which is applicable as a connection link for theft preventive arrangements in accordance with the Dutch patent application 1022467.

The preferably harp shaped shacle borrows its torsion free properties from its universal joint construction, avoiding any moment resulting from any applicated force, casu quo dismantling by malefactors. Mounting the shacle into the wall in accordance with above mentioned Dutch patent application, viz by means of an expansible elastoplastic tube. The way in which the things mentioned are secured is connected with the inventivity of modern thief's and advanced auxiliaries to their disposal.

For said reasons the accessibility of the main bolt of the fastener is hindered by means of a free rotating disc or ball, secured with a not dismantlable safety pin.

Further more the shacle is provided with an internal welded clamp, intended to avoid forcing of the cardanic construction.

Well equipped sly criminals will endeavor to saw through the stem in between the clamp and the hinge, causing destruction.

The way in which such will be precluded is an essential aspect of the present invention.

For this reason several holes are bored into the fastener at the spot of said vulnerable part, in which holes tempered steel needles are

fitted, with sufficient tolerance.

When the thief should try to saw through the stem, these needles starts to whirl, stopping further penetration, leaving the fastener unimpaired. The combination of axial space bush and washer on the bottom side, simplifies the attachment into the wall anchor, of which the torsion free shacle according to the invention forms a part. Hinging of the shacle perpendicular to the longitudinal centerline of the main bolt is facilitated by means of non-disjoinable splitted bushes. Through these bushes smooth pins are fitted; each pin provided with a semi-spherical head, avoiding grip by any tool. Also because of hindering dismounting, the material selection will be decisive of the service live.

Brief description of the drawings: one embodiment of the invention will be explained by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings in which FIG. 1 is a elevation view, in cross section of the torsion free shacle, stayed up into the wall, FIG. 2 represents a detail of the shacle in upper view, FIG. 3 ditto in cross section, FIG. 4 the hinge under consideration cross sectionally and FIG. 5 ditto in top view.

Detailed description of the preferred embodiment: With reference to the figures, the preferred embodiment of the torsion free shacle includes a connecting piece 1, by means of main bolt 2 connected to the rubber or rubber-like expandable tube 3.

The washer 4 is kept in its position by bush 5, in order to achieve a minimal angle of friction during fitting and after, in such a way that - also due to nylon bush 6-torsion on connecting piece 1 can be disregard, hence: unscrewing by means of the shacle 7 is quite Impossible. The main bolt head (16) is covered by a free rotating plug 8, in his turn retarded by snap ring 9.

Cap 10 is not just intended for the finishing touch, but also for sealing purposes. Rollers 11 are functioning as protection against sawing and grinding through of the stem (17).

Because the rollers 11 are fitted with a wide tolerance, any contact with rotating discs will let them make rolling movements, stopping the destruction immediately. Torsion free mounting of shacle 7 will be brought about by means of tension bushes 12, through which pins 13 are driven.

These pins 13 are provided with a semi-spherical head 14.

The pins 13 provides for hinging of shacle 7, exclusively in connection piece 1, achieved by sufficient tolerance.

Piece 1 can be provided with an ear 15.
