Abstract:
Provided is a touch switch of novel construction whereby change in the contact angle of a fingertip against an operating surface due to extension of the finger is minimized during input of a sliding motion to move the switch in the direction of the tip while the fingertip is in contact with the operating surface, so that detection accuracy can be improved. An operating surface (16) of a conductive member (14) contacted by a finger (48) is equipped with a reference surface (40) extending in a longitudinal direction such that the tip of the finger (48) points to the front. The operating surface (16) extends while sloping upward towards the front from the reference surface (40), and is equipped with a front curving surface (42) of progressively larger slope angle towards the front, the front curving surface (42) having a smaller curvature radius than the reference surface (40).
