Abstract:
Provided are: a towel fabric that has a bulky and soft texture, less likely produces lint, and has excellent water absorbency; and a production method therefor. In the towel fabric wherein pile yarns are locked to a ground weave in which ground warp yarns and ground weft yarns intersect, at least one of the ground warp yarns, ground weft yarns, and pile yarns is formed from spun twisted yarn. The spun twisted yarn, in which at least two roving yarns are twisted as a single yarn in a primary twist direction, one of the roving yarns has a balanced twist, and at least one of the other roving yarns has an actual twist with irregular strand lengths and intertwisting angles in portions thereof, is spread and expanded.
