Description:
TOWEL MEMBER CONFIGURED FOR COMBAT GLOVE

BACKGROUND

[0001] Combat sports involve a grueling match between fighters in a contest of strength, speed, reflexes, attention, and endurance. Fighters may perspire considerably, may endure bleeding wounds, and may lose other body fluids such as tears, saliva, mucus, and the like. Such bodily fluids may irritate or obstruct the eyes of a fighter. The resulting obstruction in vision may be dangerous, considering that a moment of distraction may render a fighter vulnerable to an attack. Boxers, for example, may be vulnerable because it may be difficult to effectively keep their eyes free from fluid during an ongoing round. Removal of excess body fluids from the face or eyes may increase the safety of the sport, and may also allow matches to be scored more on skill than on outcomes resulting from unfortunate or unpredictable distraction caused by excess body fluids.

[0002] The present application appreciates that managing distraction in combat sports caused by excess body fluids may be a challenging endeavor.

[0093] To the extent that the term "include" or "including" is used in the specification or the claims, it is intended to be inclusive in a manner similar to the interpretation of the term "comprising" when employed as a transitional word in a claim. Furthermore, to the extent that the term "or" is employed (e.g., A or B) it is intended to mean "A or B or both." When "only A or B but not both" is intended, then the term "only A or B but not both" will be employed. Thus, use of the term "or" herein is the inclusive, and not the exclusive use. As used in the specification and the claims, the singular forms "a," "an," and "the" include the plural. As used herein, the term "approximately" means plus or minus 10% unless otherwise specified.

[0094] The extent to which the repetitive use of the terms "first," "second,"

"third," "left," "right," and the like, as well as the terms in which they identify, such as "absorbent cloth," "absorbent cloth extension," "appendage," "end," or "fastener" are not intended to be cross referenced amongst different embodiments identified by different independent claims. For example, the first absorbent cloth described in FIG. 3 is not intended to be the first absorbent cloth described in FIG. 6. Likewise, the repetitive use of the terms "front side" and "back side" refer only to the object in which they are introduced. Furthermore, the terms "front side" and "back side" are meant to include all structural features extending from the object which was introduced. For example, the "front side" of the first absorbent cloth described in FIG. 3 means that the first absorbent cloth extension also includes a "front side." It should be noted that the terms "front side" and "back side" are interchangeable when concerning a towel member designed for the left hand and a towel designed for the right hand. Furthermore, the "appendages" or "ends" may be structurally reversed to accommodate the opposite hand. For example, the front side of a towel member designed for the left hand is the back side of a towel member designed for the right hand. [0095] The use of the term "combat glove" means any glove used in a physical encounter. A combat glove may be interpreted to include boxing gloves, mixed-martial arts (MMA) gloves, muay thai gloves, taekwondo gloves, savate gloves, krav maga gloves, jiu jitsu gloves, karate gloves, judo gloves, and any other martial arts or sparring gloves. It shall be noted that permanent attachment of the towel members to such combat gloves may be applicable to one-time-use-only combat gloves designed for amateur and professional bouts. It shall also be noted that the towel members designed to be reversibly secured about such combat gloves may be applicable to practice bouts and fitness purposes. The reversibly securable towel members may be marketed and sold separately or in combination with the combat gloves. It shall further be noted that the towel members configured to be secured about the combat gloves may be used independently from the combat gloves for other exercise or fitness purposes such as running, biking, hiking, and the like.

[0096] As used herein, the term "about" is interchangeably used with the term

"around." The terms "about" and "around" mean "encircling" or "encompassing." The term "complementary" as used herein, such as to describe complementary fasteners, means for example, that one fastener is configured to mate with another fastener. The use of the term "void" means an absence of an object.

[0097] The anatomical term "dorsal" means an "upper side" of an object and is synonymous with the term "exterior." Conversely, the anatomical term "ventral" is means the "underside" of an object and is synonymous with the term "interior." Furthermore, the term "ulnar" means being near the ulna bone in the forearm, the ulna bone extending from the elbow to the wrist on the side opposite the thumb. Similarly, the term "radial" mean being near the radius bone in the forearm, the radial bone extending laterally from the elbow to the wrist on the same side as the thumb. The anatomical term "distal" means a point situated away from the point of attachment or from the center of the body. Similarly, the anatomical term "proximal" means a point situated nearer the point of attachment or the center of the body.

[0098] While the present application has been illustrated by the description of embodiments, and while the embodiments have been described in considerable detail, it is not the intention to restrict or in any way limit the scope of the appended claims to such detail. Additional advantages and modifications will readily appear to those skilled in the art, having the benefit of this application. Therefore, the application, in its broader aspects, is not limited to the specific details and illustrative examples shown. Departures may be made from such details and examples without departing from the spirit or scope of the general inventive concept.
