Abstract:
Provided is a tower-like structure made of concrete which is less susceptible to bending fracture, and also provided is a method for building a tower-like structure.
Pre-stress is introduced in the vertical direction to a tower-like structure of reinforce concrete standing on a foundation in order to prevent cracking of concrete at a tensile stress generating portion of the tower-like structure. When pre-stress is introduced in the circumferential direction to the tower-like structure so that confined effect is exhibited, compression strength, flexural strength and deformation performance of the tower-like structure can be enhanced. A tower-like structure made of concrete which is less susceptible to bending fracture can be built by these pre-stress introduction effects.
