Abstract:
A TPU medical catheter with an outer surface modified by an antibacterial polysaccharide, comprising the following components in percentages by mass: 25-50% of diisocyanate, 20-70% of polyol, 5-20% of polypropylene, 1-10% of a chain extender, 5-10% of an antibacterial polysaccharide, and 0-1% of a catalyst. A single-screw extruder is used for a blending and extrusion process, and the antibacterial polysaccharide is mainly accumulated on the outer surface of the catheter by means of a single-screw side feeding technique at the end of section 2/3, so that the outer surface that is in contact with human tissue has excellent antibacterial properties and biological affinity, and the excellent mechanical properties of the TPU material of a main catheter body are not influenced. The antibacterial rate of the TPU medical catheter against Candida albicans, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus reaches 90% or more, and the TPU medical catheter can be widely used in various medical scenarios.
