Abstract:
A first traffic volume time series and a first communication quality time series that have been observed in a first communication line in which traffic demand is greater than or equal to a line band, and a second traffic volume time series and a second communication quality time series that have been observed in a second communication line in which the traffic demand is less than a line band are inputted to a state space model to estimate the value of a parameter group of the state space model, the traffic demand is calculated on the basis of the value of the parameter group, and the state space model is a state space model in which the first traffic volume time series and the second traffic volume time series are generated from a third time series indicating traffic periodicity common to the first communication line and the second communication line while receiving the influence of the first communication quality time series and the second communication quality time series on the traffic demand, thereby assisting appropriate band design of an overload line in which the traffic demand is greater than or equal to the line band.
