Abstract:
The present invention relates to a traffic information provision system comprising: a server for providing, to an electronic device, traffic information on each of a plurality of roads forming a traffic information simple map; and the electronic device for receiving the traffic information from the server, wherein the electronic device comprises: a communication module for transmitting and receiving data to and from the server; a display unit for displaying the data received from the server; a storage unit in which an input waiting time is stored in advance, for waiting to receive a specific area selection signal indicating a signal for selecting a specific area from the entire area of the traffic information simple map; and a control unit for waiting for reception to receive the specific area selection signal through an input and output unit for the duration of the input waiting time, determining whether the specific area selection signal has been received when the input waiting time elapses, generating specific area traffic information transmission request information indicating traffic information of the specific area and transmitting the generated specific area traffic information transmission request information to the server through the communication module if the specific area selection signal has been received, receiving specific area traffic information from the server according to a reception period pre-stored in the storage unit, and controlling the performance of a notification.
