Abstract:
The traffic light detection device acquires color images through an on-board color imaging unit, converts the color images into gray-scale images by associating each of color components of the color images with a gray scale such that the difference in luminance between the red light of the traffic light and the green light of the traffic light falls within a predetermined value, and detects a lighting state of the traffic light from the gray-scale images.
