Disclosed is a train information transmission device wherein respective relay devices opposing each other by the coupling surfaces thereof detect the coupling state of the two compositions of vehicles and transmit data from one of the two coupled compositions to the other composition. When the vehicles included in the two coupled compositions are in the same direction, the relay device of the mentioned one composition does not convert the data to be transmitted from the mentioned one composition to the other composition but transmits the data to the opposing relay device as it is. However, when the vehicles included in the two coupled compositions are in different directions, the relay device converts the data corresponding to the directionality of the other composition and transmits the data to the opposing relay device.
