Abstract:
In the context of a moving block signaling system, using the maximum wheel diameter for speed calculation or the like, as is done in the conventional fixed block signaling system, does not always result in control that is more safe than not. Therefore, in the event that a wheel diameter outside the normal range is configured on the basis of the result of a comparison between the previously-configured wheel diameter and a wheel diameter within the normal range, two appropriate categories of wheel diameters are used for train safety control, the two appropriate categories being among the three categories of wheel diameters consisting of the maximum wheel diameter and minimum wheel diameter in the normal range, and wheel diameters outside the normal range.
