Abstract:
A transfer device for a plate-like member transfers a glass plate (P) as the plate-like member while sucking and holding the glass plate (P) by a negative pressure acting thereon through a suction pad. The suction pad (30) has a projection (39) on the inner surface thereof. When the suction pad (30) sucks a protective sheet (B) laid over the surface of the glass plate (P), the projection (39) penetrates through the protective sheet (B). This forms air flow sections (b1) around the portion of the protective sheet through which the projection penetrated, and the suction pad (30) sucks and holds, through the air flow sections, the glass plate (P) together with the protective sheet (B).
