Abstract:
When resources assigned to a host computer in a virtual storage system after a storage system transfer are present in different physical storage nodes, mapping of the resources among the physical storage nodes is required, and the host I/O capacity may be degraded from the capacity prior to the transfer when the amount of communication between the physical storage nodes occurring during resource access exceeds the bandwidth of the connection path therefor. Therefore, in a transfer from a first physical storage node to a virtual storage system composed of a plurality of second physical storage nodes, a management computer assigns the resources of the second physical storage nodes within the range of the bandwidth of the transmission channel between the second physical storage nodes on the basis of configuration information for the plurality of second physical storage nodes, as well as capacity information and load information for the volume provided by the first physical storage node.
