Abstract:
Provide are a transformant of S.pombe enabling production of 3-HP with a high productivity without requiring neutralization with an alkali, and a method for producing 3-HP by culturing said transformant. The transformant uses Schizosaccharomyces pombe as the host, and is characterized in that a malonyl-CoA reductase coding gene, an acetyl-CoA carboxylase coding gene, a pyruvate oxidase coding gene, and an acetyl-CoA synthetase coding gene are introduced, or in that a malonyl-CoA reductase coding gene, an acetyl-CoA carboxylase coding gene and a gene cluster that may form a pyruvate dehydrogenase complex are introduced, said pyruvate oxydase being an enzyme that catalyzes acetic acid production reaction from pyruvic acid and water.
