Abstract:
A transformer for vehicles comprises a core (1), a winding (2), a square tank (3)
containing the core and the winding, a cooling device (7) for cooling a refrigerant
(6) placed in the tank (3), and a circulation pump (8) for forcedly circulating
the refrigerant (6). A partition member (9) is installed so that the inside of
the tank (3) can be divided into two parts. A flow passage for the refrigerant
(6) flowing inside the winding (2) is divided into a first refrigerant flow passage
(10) and a second refrigerant flow passage (11) by the partition member (9). The
both refrigerant flow passages (10, 11) are made to communicate with each other
at one end of the tank (3), and the cooling device (7) connected to the both refrigerant
flow passages (10, 11) is disposed at the other end so that the refrigerant (6)
can circulate through the first refrigerant flow passage (10) and the second
refrigerant flow passage (11). Consequently, the transformer for vehicles
can be reduced in size and weight by simplifying the connection between the tank
and the cooling device.
