Abstract:
This transmission device is configured to be able to favorably access a register of a cable. An inquiry about the presence/absence of the register is made to a cable connected between the transmission device and a reception device. Information indicating the presence/absence of the register is received from the cable in response to the inquiry. When this information indicates the presence of the register, the register of the cable is accessed and storage data is acquired therefrom or is written thereinto.
