Abstract:
It is possible to periodically transmit signal data in accordance with the transfer rate
of a transmission path. An asynchronous conversion unit (110) in a transmission camera
(100) temporarily stores JPEG 2000 video data into which synchronous data is
inserted, into an internal FIFO memory (158) and allocates it to the transmission path
at an allocation speed based on the transfer rate of the transmission path for
which a transmission timing comes periodically. On the other hand, a read unit
(256) in a reception monitor (200) reads each of the JPEG 2000 video data (1 and
2) stored in a FIFO memory (254) at a read speed corresponding to the insertion cycle
of the synchronous data. Accordingly, even when the input and output speed of
the JPEG 2000 video data is not synchronized with the transfer rate of the transmission path,
it is possible to perform periodical transmission in accordance with the transfer
rate of the transmission path.
