Abstract:
In order to reduce the power consumed by a wireless carrier wave, this transmission device is equipped with: a data reception unit that receives, from a network, continuous data which includes real data and null data; a packetization unit that deletes at least a portion of the null data from the continuous data and generates packets for wireless transmission; a transmission unit that transmits the packets by means of a wireless carrier wave; and a control unit that stops the transmission of the wireless carrier wave by the transmission unit during at least a portion of a period in which the packets are not transported wirelessly.
