Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to optimize the bandwidth and the modulation method for a transmission cable to achieve stable transmission. A transmission device according to the present invention is for bidirectionally transmitting/receiving a video signal via one transmission line and is characterized in that a transmission side transmits to the transmission line a calibration signal having a bandwidth equal to or larger than the transmission bandwidth, a receiving side calculates a signal-to-noise ratio for each frequency of the transmission line on the basis of the received calibration signal and calculates an optimal transmission bandwidth that maximizes the transmission capacity on the basis of the signal-to-noise ratio, and the transmission side divides the optimal transmission bandwidth into a plurality of bandwidths and selects a modulation method that satisfies a required signal-to-noise ratio in the divided frequency bands.
