Abstract:
A transmission mechanism provided with a pinion sprocket (20) supported so as to be capable of moving radially relative to a rotating shaft (1) into which and from which motive power is inputted and outputted, a composite sprocket (5) having a movement mechanism for synchronously moving the pinion sprocket (20) radially while maintaining equal distance from the axial center (C1) of the rotating shaft (1), and a chain (6) wrapped around two composite sprockets (5), (5), the transmission ratio being varied by varying the radius of a circle that encloses and is tangent to the pinion sprocket (20). Each of a plurality of guide rods (29) has a first guide rod (291) for guiding the chain (6) irrespective of the size of the radius of the tangent circle (A), and a second guide rod (292) for guiding the chain (6) at least when the radius of the tangent circle (A) is at a maximum, the second guide rod being positioned radially inward from the first guide rod (291). This makes it possible to expand ratio coverage.
