Abstract:
A transmission system achieving both the effect of orthogonality between temporal block codes in a distorted transmission channel and the effect of path diversity. The transmission system comprises a transmitter for transmitting a signal by multiplying a code which is a temporal block code composed of time-series symbols by an information signal (S[n]), transmitting the product signal, multiplying the temporal block codes by the information signal, multiplexing the codes along the time axis, and transmitting the multiplexed codes and a receiver having a reception filter. In the transmission system, the characteristics of the reception filter are set to those of an adjoint matrix HH of a matrix H which is the impulse response matrix of the transmission channel, and the temporal block code is set to the unique code E_i[n] represented by the eigenvector of the matrix HHH expressing the connection system composed of the transmission channel and the reception filter.
