An image display transmission system is adapted to immediately display images in an image display system comprising a transmission terminal having an image storage section for storing a plurality of pieces of image data whose display order is defined and a display which is connected to the transmission terminal through a network and has a cache data storage section for storing the plurality of pieces of image data transmitted from the transmission terminal and a display device for displaying the images of the image data stored in the cache data storage section. The image display system has a storage section for storing a control rule in which the display order of the plurality of pieces of image data is either in accordance with a forward-feed mode indicating the display order of the data to be displayed or a reverse-feed mode reverse from the forward-feed mode and which corresponds to each of the modes and a data control section for, with reference to the storage content of the cache data storage section and the modes and control rule stored in the storage section, controlling so that image data whose display order is following the image data of a specific image currently displayed on the display device is stored in the cache data storage section.
