Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Apparatuses and methods for transmission of uplink channels with repetitions in a wireless communication system. A method includes receiving first information that includes a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) field associated with transmission of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH). The MCS field includes a number of bits, a first value of a first number of bits, from the number of bits, indicates a first number of repetitions for the transmission of the PUSCH, and a second value of a third number of bits, from the number of bits excluding the first number of bits, indicates an MCS index for the transmission of the PUSCH. The method further includes determining the first number of repetitions based on the first value; determining an MCS for the transmission of the PUSCH based on the second value; and transmitting the PUSCH with the first number of repetitions and the MCS.
