The purpose of the present invention is to provide a transmission which has reduced number of parts and reduced cost, is compact, and can be efficiently mounted on a vehicle. A transmission is provided with: a case; a rotating shaft rotatably supported by the case; transmission gears rotatably supported by the rotating shaft; a fork shaft moved to an axial position corresponding to shift operation; a connection member for switching, according to the axial position of the fork shaft, a transmission gear between a connected state in which the transmission gear is connected to the rotating shaft and a connection release state in which the transmission gear is released from the connection with the rotating shaft; a parking gear affixed to the rotating shaft; an engagement member moving between an engaged position at which the rotation of the parking gear is restricted and an engagement release position at which the rotation of the parking gear is permitted; and a cam member for moving the engagement member to the engagement position or the engagement release position according to the axial position of the fork shaft.
