Abstract:
Provided is a transmission which can achieve seamless shifting while reducing the elastic force required from a spring. A transmission (1) comprises a shift device (70) which selectively couples gears to a shaft. A shift drum (110) comprises an unlock region (116) that sets the position of a second rod (106) such that second dog gears (93, 94) mesh with a second gear (53), and sets the position of a first rod (104) so as to release the meshing of first dog gears (84, 85) with a first gear (43). The shift device (70) comprises: a spring (129) that is interposed between the first rod (104) and a first fork (101), and that urges the first fork (101) in the axial direction in the unlock region (116); and a thrust generation unit that, separately from the elastic force of the spring (129), exerts, on a first ring (81), a thrust in an axial direction, separating in the unlock region (116) the first dog gears (84, 85) and the first gear (43).
