Abstract:
A metadata schema indicative of the structure of the metadata for contents data stored in a contents memory (203) is stored in a metadata schema memory (201). A fragment generator (204) generates fragmentation data for selecting a specific fragment from the contiguous data sent from the contents memory (203), and sends it to a metadata combiner (202). The metadata associated with a specific fragment of contiguous data corresponding to the fragmentation data is related to the fragmentation data in a form compatible with the structure of the metadata schema by the metadata combiner (202), which then provides metadata with fragmentation data. The metadata schema, the metadata with the fragmentation data, and the contents are converted into a transmission format.
