Abstract:
The present invention enables high-quality audio reproduction on a receiving side, without the supply of a transmission clock from the receiving side to the transmitting side using a clock signal line.
According to the present invention, a transmitting device receives from a receiving device (external appliance) encoded data from which it is possible to reproduce a clock, generates an audio clock on the basis of a lane clock reproduced from the encoded data, and transmits the audio data to the receiving device in synchronism with the audio clock. The receiving device transmits to an external appliance encoded data from which a clock can be reproduced, in synchronism with a lane clock generated on the basis of an audio clock originating in the receiving device, receives the audio data from the transmitting device (external appliance), and processes the audio data on the basis of the audio clock originating in the receiving device itself.
