Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to make it possible for a reception-side electro-optical conversion process to be performed satisfactorily with respect to transmission video data obtained using HDR opto-electrical conversion characteristics.
Transmission video data are obtained by subjecting high dynamic range video data to high dynamic range opto-electrical conversion. A video stream is obtained by subjecting the transmission video data to an encoding process. A container having a prescribed format, containing the video stream, is transmitted. Meta information indicating electro-optical conversion characteristics corresponding to the high dynamic range opto-electrical conversion characteristics is inserted into a parameter set region in the video stream.
