Abstract:
This transmitting device is provided with: a mapping unit 11 that performs QPSK modulation on a transmission bit; a DSTBC encoding unit 12 that sets, as one block, two symbols of a modulation signal generated by the mapping unit 11, and performs differential time space encoding on each block to generate a differential time space encoded signal; and an initial value setting unit 13 that gives the DSTBC encoding unit 12 a combination element of two symbols for providing two types of amplitudes which the differential time space encoded signal generated by the DSTBC encoding unit 12 can take, as a signal initial value to be used in place of a previously generated differential time space encoded signal when the DSTBC encoding unit 12 starts differential time space encoding.
