Abstract:
Disclosed is a transparent film which comprises a polycarbonate comprising substantially a repeat unit (A) having a specific structure and a repeat unit (B) having a specific structure, wherein the repeat unit (A) comprises 75 to 95 mol% of the total repeat units and the repeat unit (B) comprises 25 to 5 mol% of the total repeat units. The film is a monolayer transparent film which can be used as a phase retardation film, has a handling property, heat resistance and transparency, and comprises a polycarbonate having a negative optical anisotropy. Particularly, the film is improved in cracking resistance.
