Abstract:
Provided is a transport belt tension adjusting method that can accurately adjust transport belt tension. A transport belt tension adjusting method to adjust tension of a transport belt (23) in a transporting device (2) provided on an inkjet printing device (1) to transport a printing medium by the endless transport belt (23) stretched to a driving roller (21) and a driven roller (22) is characterized by comprising a tension applying step of applying tension to the transport belt (23) by moving at least one of the driving roller (21) and the driven roller (22), a detecting step of detecting, with a laser sensor (24a-24c), displacement due to deflection of any stretched portion of the transport belt (23) of the driving roller (21) compared to before tension is applied to the transport belt (23), and an adjusting step of adjusting the transport belt (23) tension by moving at least one of the driving roller (21) and the driven roller (22) on the basis of the displacement.
