Abstract:
This transport system comprises: an object to be transported and having an elongated shape in a planar view; a station at which the object to be transported is arranged; and an automated guided vehicle that includes an elevating platform on which the object to be transported is placed, and travels autonomously along a prescribed travel route. The automated guided vehicle has an overall vehicle length which, in a planar view, is shorter than a longitudinal dimension of the object to be transported, and a vehicle width which, in a planar view, is shorter than the lateral width of the object to be transported. In a state in which the automated guided vehicle has crawled under the object to be transported, the automated guided vehicle executes a first travel direction changing operation for changing the travel direction of the automated guided vehicle such that the travel direction of the automated guided vehicle is parallel to the longitudinal direction of the object to be transported.
