Abstract:
Provided are a transport system and a transport control method that make it possible to realize at least one of the following features: being able to continue work even when it has become no longer possible to detect a guiding line; and being able to detect an abnormality that it is not possible to detect a guiding line. A transport system according to the present invention is provided with: a transport vehicle that transports an object to be transported; and a control device that controls the operation of the transport vehicle. The transport vehicle is provided with: a guiding-line detection unit that detects a guiding line provided on a travelling route; a travelling control unit that causes the transport vehicle to travel along the guiding line; and a vehicle-position estimation unit that estimates the position of the transport vehicle. The control device is provided with a recording unit that records map information including position information of the guiding line. When the vehicle position estimated by the vehicle-position estimation unit is at least a prescribed distance away from the guiding line position included in the map information, the control device causes the transport vehicle to travel to the guiding line position included in the map information.
