Abstract:
[Problem] To have overhead transport vehicles transfer articles to adjacent transfer sites simultaneously or concurrently even if the port pitch of the adjacent transfer sites is less than the overall length of the overhead transport vehicles in the extension direction. [Solution] Provided is a transport vehicle system SYS1 wherein: an overhead transport vehicle 30 comprises a main unit 32, a hold unit 33, a lift drive unit 34, and a horizontal extension mechanism 35; port pitch P is less than the overall length VL in the extension direction D of the overhead transport vehicle 30; and a first portion 38A, which is lifted by the lift drive unit 34 moved in the horizontal direction by a horizontal extension mechanism 35A, of an overhead transport vehicle 30A stopped on a first track 10 at a first position P1 for transferring an article W to a first transport site S1 is offset in the extension direction D from a second portion 39B, which was moved in the horizontal direction due to the drive of a horizontal extension mechanism 35B, of an overhead transport vehicle 30B stopped on a second track 20 at a second position P2 for transferring an article W to a second transfer site S2.
