Provided is a transportation device which has rolls and which, while transporting an optical film having a cut line, can prevent the optical film from bending at a cut line straddling the rolls while transportation is stopped. The transportation device has: a single transportation direction changing roller that an elongated optical film moves over in a predetermined direction while straddling within a predetermined angle range such that a release film is positioned on the inside; a roller driving unit for moving the transportation direction changing roller in a predetermined direction; a determination unit 303 for determining whether the cut line stops in a section of the elongated optical film at which the elongated optical film straddles the transportation direction changing roller when the transportation of the elongated optical film is stopped; and a roller driving control unit 302 which, on the basis of the determination result, controls the roller driving unit 301 to move the transportation direction changing roller in a predetermined direction so that the cut line does not stop in the section straddling the transportation direction changing roller when the transportation is actually stopped.
