Title:
TRANSVERSE FLUX MACHINES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/081463
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to motors (fig. 21), generators and linear drives having even smaller pole pitches and therefore a higher number of poles. For a high number of poles (12), only a single winding (13) is required per phase (L) and a plurality of phases (L) can be arranged next to each other. Smaller pole pitches reduce the winding space required, and result in shorter lengths of magnetic circuit and a correspondingly precise positioning capacity especially for the construction of machines. Higher torques and a lower weight can also be achieved.
