Description:
Trap for flies and the like

The present invention concerns a trap for flies and their likes.

In particular, the present invention relates to a trap suitable to attract and retain flies and gnats more effectively than the traditional traps.

Nowadays, in the field of traps for flies, mosquitoes and similar insects, particularly suitable for outdoor use in "horeca outlets" such as bars or restaurants, devices with lamps designed to emit attractive light radiation for flies, mosquitoes and the likes are known.

These devices are equipped with electrified grids arranged in front of the lamps so that an insect approaching the lamp crossing the grid is electrocuted.

These traditional devices are quite annoying, because when an insect gets electrocuted or burnt, the resulting electric discharge emits an easily heard sound impulse in the vicinity.

In addition, these devices are often not particularly effective for catching flies.

The underlying problem of the present invention is to propose a trap for flies and their likes, more effective than the traditional traps for insects.

The main task of the present invention is to provide a trap for flies and their likes, which solves this problem by solving the flaws of the trap for flies and their likes described above.

Within the scope of this task, it is an object of the present invention to provide a trap for flies and their likes which is more quite than the known electrical traps.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a trap for flies and their likes which can be placed at a far distance from an area that is to be freed from flies and their likes.

Yet another object of the invention is to propose a trap for flies and their likes which is simple to realize and easy to use.

This task, as well as these and other objects that will best be seen in the following, are achieved by a trap for flies and their likes according to claim 1 attached.

Detailed features of a trap for flies and their likes according to the invention are reported in the dependent claims.

Further features and advantages of the invention will become more apparent from the description of a preferred, but not exclusive, embodiment of a trap for flies and their likes according to the invention, illustrated by way of non-limitative example in the joined drawings, in which:

figure 1 shows a trap for flies and their likes, according to the present invention, in perspective;

figure 2 shows an enlarged and sectional view of the trap of figure 1.

With particular reference to the figures cited above, generally indicated with 10 a trap for flies 100 and their likes, which according to the present invention has a particular peculiarity in that it comprises:

- a support 11 having a surface 12 on which flies 100 and similar insects may settle;

- an adhesive material 13 covering the surface 12 and suitable to retain a fly 100 or a similar insect that settles on to it;

- at least a bait 14 adapted to attract flies 100 and similar insects placed in relation to the surface 12 in a position such as to attract the flies 100 or similar insects to settle on the surface 12.

For example, the bait 14 may comprise a material capable of emitting an olfactory signal perceivable by flies and similar insects and exercises an attraction on them.

Preferably, a trap according to the present invention will comprise a protection structure designed to prevent or at least hinder access to the bait 14 by domestic or wild animals.

This protection structure will preferably include, for example, a cage, not shown in the accompanying figures, to be superimposed on the bait.

The surface 12, according to the present invention, is suitable for reflecting or emitting a yellow light radiation.

For example, the surface may be yellow.

In an alternative embodiment of the present invention, particularly suitable for use in dark or low light conditions, not shown in the accompanying figures, not illustrated in the attached figures, the support may be equipped with a light source and the surface may be permeable to the light emitted by the light source and placed with respect to the latter in order to be crossed, in use, by that light.

The light source and/or the surface will preferably be of a yellow color so that the light emitted through the surface is yellow. Advantageously, the surface 12 is substantially flat and the support 11 is configured so that, in use, when it is rested on a sustain, the surface 12 is substantially horizontal.

It has been found that a particularly effective bait 14 includes fish products, or substances suitable for emitting an equivalent olfactory signal, and preferably sardines.

The support 11 advantageously comprises at least one seat 15 suitable for housing the bait 14.

The particular, preferably trap 10, comprises at least one container 16 defining the seat 15.

In this case, preferably the support 11 comprises at least one hole 17 adapted to receive the container 16 to hold it.

The surface 12 preferably surrounds the seat 15 which is preferably placed in the center of the surface 12 itself.

The adhesive material 13 and surface 12 are advantageously chosen in such a way that the adhesive material 13 is easily removable chemically, for example by means of a detergent or mechanically, for example by scraping, from the surface 12 without damaging it.

In a preferred embodiment, the surface 12 is advantageously equipped with a transparent or translucent protective membrane 18, advantageously made of a plastic film which covers the surface 12 itself.

In this case, the adhesive material 13 is deposited on the membrane 18 so that, following the removal of the membrane 18 from the surface 12, the adhesive material 13 and the insects trapped on it, are removed.

The membrane 18, for this purpose, is removable and replaceable to remove the adhesive material 13 from the surface 12.

Structurally, support 11 advantageously includes

- a shelf having a first face defining the surface 12 and a second face 11a opposite the first face;

- prop elements 19 projecting from the second face 11a and adapted to rest in use on a sustain to hold the shelf.

The supporting elements are preferably adjustable in length to accommodate any irregularities of the support on which to rest the trap 10.

It has thus been found to be a trap for flies and the like according to the present invention achieves the task and the intended purposes, in particular allowing quietly and effectively attracting flies and their likes.

In fact, it has been found that a trap according to the present invention allows to capture hundreds of flies over a day of exposure to it outdoors.

The invention thus conceived is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which fall within the scope of the enclosed claims.

In addition, all details may be replaced by other technically equivalent elements.

In practice, the materials used, as well as the shapes and the size of the contingents, may be varied according to the contingent needs and state of the art.

If the constructive features and techniques mentioned in the following claims are followed by signs or reference numbers, such signs or reference numbers have been assigned with the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims themselves and, consequently, they do not constitute no way of limiting the interpretation of each element identified, purely for example, by such signs or reference numbers.
