Abstract:
Provided are a travel assistance device and a computer program which carry out guidance with respect to connection roads which could become risk factors, while restricting unnecessary guidance as much as possible. More specifically, the present invention is configured such that a connection road which is present within the field of view of a driver, and which has a lower visibility with respect to the driver than a threshold value, among connection roads which connect with the road along which a vehicle is travelling at junction points present in the surroundings of the vehicle, is identified on the basis of a captured image and a map information image, and guidance is carried out which suggests the presence of a non-visible road, i.e. the identified connection road.
