Abstract:
A travel assistance device (4) which is provided in the rearmost one (VN) of the plurality of vehicles (V1—VN) included in a vehicle group (VG) traveling in a platoon, and which provides travel assistance to a vehicle (VO) following the vehicle group (VG), wherein the travel assistance device (4) is provided with: an information acquisition unit (5) which acquires both information indicating, from among the plurality of vehicles (V1—VN), vehicles (if any) that are about to turn right or left at an intersection (I), and information indicating the point in time at which the foremost one of the vehicles that are about to turn right or left begins to decelerate; and a direction indicator control unit (6) which turns on a direction indicator (7) of the rearmost vehicle (VN) at the point in time at which the foremost one of the vehicles that are about to turn right or left begins to decelerate.
