Abstract:
Provided is a travel control device (100) that performs: a first information acquisition function of acquiring vehicle information including the position of a vehicle (V1); a second information acquisition function of acquiring object information including the position of an object to be avoided by the vehicle (V1); a setting function of setting a predetermined detection region (RD) for detecting the object to be avoided according to the position of the vehicle (V1); and a control function of outputting instruction information for controlling movement of the vehicle (V1) if the object to be avoided is detected in the predetermined detection region (RD). By the setting function, the predetermined detection region (RD) is expanded rearward of the vehicle (V1) if an object to be avoided that is behind the vehicle (V1) is detected in the predetermined detection region (RD), and the predetermined detection region (RD) is expanded forward of the vehicle (V1) if an object to be avoided that is ahead of the vehicle (V1) is detected in the predetermined detection region (RD).
